Technology had improved dramatically since the original training was developed in 1995, and this was reflected in the 1998, Y2K compatible version of training which we developed. Though we still held all the original source code, authoring software had moved on so much it was actually more efficient to code an entirely new application rather than patch the old one.

Menu navigation was completely re-designed - the one screen shown above replaced over 50 multi-level menus from the original application! The selection of training modules provided instant feedback to the user about their progress. And the users details are also passed seamlessly to and from Barclays' own Student Management System.

The look and feel of the training was redesigned to take advantage of the higher specification equipment available now. Despite this complete change of format, the training remained multi-platform compatible and worked under Windows 3.1, Windows 95 and Windows NT. For further flexibility in delivery, the training worked either from CD-ROM or hard disk.
