In 1998 our company was commissioned by London underground to develop a solution to deliver computer-based training to sites all across London. The solution needed to interface with the existing personnel system and manage student information for multiple courses held at multiple training locations. The solution also needed the flexibility to handle all types of computer-based training, regardless of the software used for development.

There was also an urgent requirement for a specific training course:- the London underground fire safety and emergency procedures course, known as "Fire Core." At London Undeground, Fire Core training is mandatory for all staff and contractors due to the stringent safety regulations the organisation operates under. It is also mandatory that staff must be 're-certified' on Fire Core every year. Since the course has an annual attendance of over 5000 personnel from more than 20 sites across London, it was the ideal candidate for a pilot project.
