Massive Animator for the feature “Flags of Our Fathers” Was responsible for over 80 massive shots including several key invasion sequences and all stadium sequences. Was responsible for the design of the tank, the amphibious tank and the Higgins Landing Boat massive agents as well as configuring hero soldier agents for shore landing and invasion abilities. Coordinated between lighting and water FX teams to ensure massive agents played well with all other elements! A number of invasion shots and agents were subesequently re-used for “Letters from Iwo Jima

3D Artist / Technical Director for the feature film “Racing Stripes.” Responsibilities included modeling, match moving, texturing, lighting. Additionally I designed and implemented a photo-real hair FX pipeline used to replace horse hair on the live talking horse characters.

Software engineer at this Silicon Valley startup company, developing both an Internet companion and portable display glasses that allowed the user to view 3d video game engines stereo-scopically. Won industry awards for both our eCase and eShades products. Created tailored 3d /2d promo materials and software builds for customers involved in the video game industry such as Nvidia, Nintendo, Apple, Intel and Dell, as well as other major OEM clients including Kodak, HP, and Olympus.

As a senior multimedia developer I created CBT and multimedia applications for clients including London Underground, Barclays Bank, Avis Europe, Camelot, and Deutsch Bank. Roles included coding, graphic design (3D and 2D), testing and managing customer contact. Additionally for some projects I performed training analysis and design. As a Macromedia Accredited trainer, I delivered the company's Macromedia Director "Animation" and "Lingo" training courses.

Multimedia developer with UGC's multimedia and presentation graphics unit. Projects included touch-screen kiosks, intranet systems, laptop-based sales tools, and promotional materials for clients including Land-Rover, Jaguar, Philips, Lego, Datasonix, Nuclear Electric, and Unipart International. Roles included application design and coding, graphic design (3D and 2D), customer liaison and project management.

Speaker and co-organizer at an industry conference "Getting Started with Multimedia," organized for universities and businesses from all over the UK. The event sessions addressed many aspects of multimedia technology, potential and practice. I demonstrated techniques for multimedia authoring and designed and supervised a practical "hands-on" session for delegates with Authorware.

Multimedia tools and technologies research for the IT Institute. Involved establishing a multimedia studio with multiple development platforms and an assessment of their potential for applications development. With the knowledge gained, I prepared and delivered a lecture course on multimedia for final year students. I also developed and supervised the student's lecture course practical assignments.

Co-authored a paper for the Society for Information Display (SID) International Symposium - "Portable Internet Appliance with Virtual SVGA Display" - based on the development of Inviso's eCase product.

Research and writing of Final Year Dissertation, a 20K word thesis on multimedia development. The work examined the production process for multimedia applications and strategies for an organization to create their own. This work was marked "best of year," and was subsequently nominated for and won the 1994 Unipart Dissertation Prize.


1993

Project leader of a multi-year team of 15 students, producing a database for the UK National Robotics Center. This was as part of the DTI's ROBUST initiative, to isolate hazards associated with Advanced Robotics Applications and establish new industry guidelines for their design and operation.


1992

Project leader of a multi-year team of 16 students, producing an Executive Information System for a computer consultancy company, IBS. The system subsequently formed the basis of a new product marketing strategy for IBS, developed in co-operation with IBM. The project went on to win the 1992 Rank Xerox Prize.
